Terms
Terms of Service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms govern the use of Alcalde, the government-intelligence service for chambers of commerce operated by Alexander Grenier, doing business as Alcalde (“Alcalde”, “we”). They apply to each chamber of commerce that uses Alcalde (the “Chamber”) and to everyone who signs in to its workspace. By using Alcalde you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.
1. The pilot
Alcalde is offered to a small number of Chambers as a pilot. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the pilot is free of charge. Features will change as we develop the service, and we may add, change or remove them. We will give a Chamber at least 30 days' notice before ending its pilot, except where we must act sooner for security or legal reasons.
2. Accounts
Accounts are created by invitation. Keep your sign-in secure and do not share it. A Chamber's administrators decide who is invited to its workspace and are responsible for removing access when someone leaves. Tell us promptly if you believe an account has been used without permission.
3. Your Chamber's content
Your Chamber owns what it adds to Alcalde: priorities, positions, notes, member information, documents and similar content. The Chamber gives Alcalde permission to store and process that content only to provide the service to the Chamber. The Chamber confirms that it has the right to add the member information it uploads and to send briefings to the people it selects, and that it will honor unsubscribe requests. We keep your Chamber's content confidential and do not show it to other Chambers.
4. Government information and summaries
Alcalde collects public government records and writes summaries of them with AI models and automated checks. Summaries can contain mistakes, and records can be incomplete or change after we read them. Each page links to the official record; check it before relying on a summary for an important decision. Statements are summaries of elected officials' own press releases, attributed to their offices, and are not endorsements. Alcalde does not provide legal, lobbying, financial or political advice.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Alcalde to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- try to reach another Chamber's workspace or data, or get around security or access limits;
- send unsolicited email or misleading messages through briefings;
- copy the service in bulk, by scraping or otherwise, or reverse engineer it;
- upload malicious code or content you have no right to share.
We may suspend access that breaks these rules or puts the service or other Chambers at risk.
6. Alcalde's service
Alcalde owns the software, design and the summaries it writes. The Chamber may share briefings, summaries and reports from its workspace with its members, board and staff. The public records themselves remain public. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
7. Other services
Alcalde links to government websites, video players and other services that we do not control. Their own terms apply when you use them.
8. Disclaimers
Alcalde is provided as a pilot, “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free or that summaries will be complete or accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Alcalde is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount the Chamber paid us in the twelve months before the claim and one hundred US dollars.
10. Ending use
A Chamber may stop using Alcalde at any time by telling us. When a Chamber stops, its access ends and we handle its content as our Privacy Policy describes; we will provide a copy of the Chamber's content if it asks within 30 days.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If we change these terms, we will update the date above and tell Chamber administrators of significant changes before they take effect; continuing to use Alcalde after that means accepting the new terms. If a provision cannot be enforced, the rest remain in effect. A separate written agreement between Alcalde and a Chamber takes precedence over these terms where they differ.
